A Fool For Love_Part Two.

There’s nothing I found more unsettling than standing and watching Jason walk towards me. I’m not the shy type, but….I just couldn’t make eye contact. Those seconds of waiting were torture. I evasively looked at anything and everyone else except him.

If you missed it, part one is just a click away! A Fool For Love _Part 1

When he was close enough, we acknowledged each other in a formal greeting and I led the way inside. He followed.

Upstairs, I welcomed him in. After some chitchat, I asked if he wanted anything to eat or drink. He asked for a coke, his favorite drink. I handed it to him.

He continued watching a movie that he found playing on my laptop. I ate ice cream and then poured myself some juice. For the first time that day, I realized how ravenous I was. I had been too busy to notice it before. Last time I’d eaten was the day before.

We talked some more. Sometimes you could tell that he truly cared. This was one of those times.

Later, I asked if he wanted to eat, he declined and said that he was satisfied. He informed me that he had eaten before coming.

You should have seen the look on my face.

I had gone out of my way, inspite of my busy schedule to cook for this guy. I had even bought expensive, weird rice just to impress him. And he DIDN’T eat anything. He didn’t even touch the ice cream or the fruits.

I was MAD.

Not the kind of anger that throws stuff on the wall or breaks things, but the quiet and reserved ‘kind_of_mad’. I was just speechless. At first I tried to act normal and joined him for the movie, then I changed my mind. Pretence is not in my blood.

I got up and served myself food. In the process, I realized I was unconsciously banging the saucepans and everything that I touched. Jason pretended to be watching the movie, but half the time his attention was on me. I didn’t care. I banged more things.

I sat down with my food on the tiled floor, across from him and ate. Or at least I tried to. I can now admit that I was just choking on every bite. Inspite of my hunger, the food was not moving. I was just forcing myself. I had zero appetite.

I must have been close to tears but I pretended to be so busy on my phone. I was just scrolling through apps.

At 4pm, I heard singing. My fellowship had begun. Minutes later, I grabbed my container with it’s food and went to the third floor for cell. I was the cell leader. In cell, everyone knew straight away that something was off. They made a few jokes to lighten up my mood but I ignored them. I stayed there for about 15 minutes. I loved my cell.

Jason sent me a text. Then another. I blueticked him. I hadn’t told him where I was going. I had just moved out.

After a few more minutes, I sloped down to my room. Opening the door, I nearly bumped into him.

We both froze.

I stared at him perplexed. He was startled. My first guess was that he had been going through my stuff.

End of Part Two.
