Engraved On My Mind-Part 1
A mysterious lad walked into my life towards the end of 2018. I don’t know how he got my number or from whom.
A few weeks after hitting my inbox, he asked me out on a casual date. From his pics, he was cute. He was also older by two years. That was a start in the right direction. I said yes.
He picked the venue. I arrived a few minutes to the agreed time. The place was mostly empty. Quiet jazz music calmed the atmosphere. I immediately felt at ease.
The restaurant had a casual but classy modern twist to it. The place boasted of great architectural and interior design. Amazing art pieces covered the walls. Lovely music played quietly in the background. It was a perfect spot. I loved it.
Settling for a table in the right front corner, I checked out the menu. Truth be told, I did not understand half the items on it, but, I had seen fries, chicken, pizza and fish somewhere. Any of those would have to do. I am not very experimental with rare cuisines.
While scheming through the menu, a waitress walked up to me and asked if I wanted to order. I declined politely. I told her I was waiting for someone. I played a game on my phone to pass the time.
Not long after my arrival, my date called. I looked around certain he had arrived. He wasn’t anywhere in sight. He said he would be with me in about five minutes. We hang up.
Hardly had I bent over my phone when I suddenly looked up. Was that our song I was hearing from the speakers? I’d be damned; it was! Several waitresses were looking in my direction. I smiled. What a coincidence! I was charmed.
I’m actually quite bashful. I looked down at my phone to hide it. Just then, someone walked up from behind me and slid in a seat opposite me. I recognized him instantly and smiled. This guy was actually more handsome in person! He must have read my mind cause he smiled.
We acknowledged each other in a casual greeting followed by some chitchat. He had told me that he was going to come wearing his favorite casual outfit. Looking at him, I was impressed. He wore blue jeans, a red T_shirt and a leather jacket. Everything about him appeared expensive. Bougie.
The End.
Thank you so much for reading. Part two will be out shortly.

Thank you Patience๐๐
As for the aspect of time, I grew up in a place where time management was highly extolled. We were raised to be in time_and not on time. The latest one ever had to be was five minutes early. We were encouraged to be an hour or thirty minutes early.
This is cool ๐
Thanks Linda…I appreciate the feedback.
