Unbelievable! -Part Three
By: Patience Joy Ayebare
Dr.Clinton said a lot but what hit me most was finding out that this gentleman had brought a ring that very day to propose to me.
We had only spoken for three days and this was literally our first meet-up after the blood donation. He was already thinking of marrying me? How fast! Was I that irresistibly hot?!
Honestly, jokes aside, that move was uncalled for. But I am only saying this now, because writing helps you reflect.
At that point, I was like, “Awww, he is so sweet and straight forward. He definitely knows what he wants”. Girls! We really are vulnerable and gullible.
Though it was sweet of him, I told Clinton I couldn’t take the ring. I asked him to give me sometime to think it through. The calls kept coming and after a week, he organized another date. This one was more of an evening date, though he had said we meet at 1:00pm. I was there on time but he showed up at 3:00pm. Why I waited three hours, for a stranger whose second name I barely knew, still amazes me. Clinton finally showed up. It was at the same hotel he took me the first time.
Dr.Clinton just kept lamenting about how hungry he was. He ordered for a lot of food and juice. My appetite had disappeared with the long wait. I simply ordered for a glass of juice.
As he ravenously ate all the food, I scrolled through a few Bible verses on my phone. Here I was, on a date with a guy that barely said the word God and yet I had left the one who made sure we prayed before we ate anything on our dates.
After eating, Clinton brought back the conversation of the ring. He mentioned having carried it again. He added that if I said yes, he would work on seeing my parents as soon as the following day.
“I am still thinking it through. I will have an answer for you the next day,” I smiled. Truthfully, there is nothing I was thinking through because everything about this doctor was unreal. It’s like I was in a dream that wasn’t all bliss. It was getting late so I asked to take my leave. He was cool with it. Before I could go, something strange happened.
Clinton had come with a laptop bag and a jacket. He checked all of them and said, “Ooooops! I think I forgot my wallet”.
You should have seen the look on my face.

…Men, men, men….. anyway, I will wait for the last part and comment on that doctor.
I just smiled at the last statement of oops…
Is that the time when you begin to do the refunds?
I wonder what Juls was doing with himself at that time.
